Hi everyone, I need to vent a little and also see if this is just a Jeep thing or if I'm doing something wrong with my car. I have a 2017 Jeep Wrangler that I absolutely adore. I've taken it on so many adventures, desert drives up in Sweihan, camping trips in RAK, you name it. But honestly the one thing that drives me crazy about this car is how often the battery seems to give up on me. I've owned this Jeep for about four years and I'm already on my third battery. The first one died after about a year and a half. The second one lasted maybe fourteen months. Now the current battery is starting to show signs of weakness again, cranking slower in the mornings and the voltage gauge looks lower than usual when I first start it up. I don't drive the Jeep every day because I have a small sedan for work commuting. The Jeep sits in my garage maybe three or four days a week and I only take it out on weekends for fun. I've heard that letting a car sit for days at a time can drain the battery slowly especially if there are any electronics drawing power while the car is off. The Wrangler has a lot of aftermarket accessories on it like a light bar and a winch and upgraded speakers. I make sure to turn everything off when I park but I wonder if something is still drawing power in the background. I started looking online to see if other Jeep owners have this same complaint and I found a page that had a lot of useful information about battery issues in off road vehicles. The page was on carbatteryreplacement-abu-dhabi.ae/jeep-battery-replacement and it mentioned that the hot climate here combined with the vibration from off road driving can really shorten a battery's life. That made a lot of sense because I do take my Jeep on bumpy desert trails pretty often. The vibration might be shaking the internal components of the battery and causing it to fail faster than it would in a regular car that only drives on smooth roads. So I guess my question is, should I just accept that I need to replace my Jeep battery every year or so given how I use the car? Or is there a specific type of heavy duty battery that is designed to handle vibration and heat better than the standard ones? I don't mind spending a bit more money upfront if it means I won't have to deal with a dead battery in the middle of the desert somewhere.
